2020 Phoenix Tango Festithon.jpg

The Phoenix Tango Festival- Marathon is a gender balanced event being held just outside of the Arizona State University campus during the July 4th weekend. Yes it is hot in Phoenix in July, but also inexpensive and the dancing will in a giant ballroom with a great air-conditioning system.  The Mission Palms Hotel is at the north end of the Tempe Mill Avenue Street district which is jamb packed with restaurants, bars, and boutique shops.  The venue is just south of Tempe Town Lake where the City of Tempe holds their phenomenal 4th of July fireworks celebration.  The roof of the Mission Palms has one of the best views in town to watch the display.  One dance floor will be dedicated to dancing for the "marathon" experience so just sign up for the milonga pass if that is what you are looking for.  Classes will have a workshop format to dig deeper into concepts.

Jim Baker is providing his spacious sprung wooden floor, which is a delight to dance on.

The Festithon will have 42 hours of dancing, 34 classes over 16 class sessions in large dedicated private teaching rooms.
